The Treshnish People

The Treshnish People
Rich in atmosphere and inspired by the landscapes of Scotland's west coast, this is a story that
celebrates both the magic of old folklore and the enduring beauty of the natural world.
The Treshnish People is a beautifully imagined children's fantasy inspired by Celtic folklore,
Scottish island traditions, and the timeless mystery of the Selkie legends. Set among the
remote Treshnish Peninsula on the Isle of Mull, it invites young readers into a world where
nature, history, and myth exist side by side with environmental awareness
At its heart is a story of friendship, courage, and belonging. As a young island boy discovers that
the old legends may be real, he begins to see the natural world in a new way. The seals,
seabirds, and hidden sea caves are no longer simply part of the landscape—they are part of a
much older story that depends on people willing to protect it.
Drawing on the enduring appeal of classic fairy tales and myths, The Treshnish People blends
the wonder of traditional Celtic storytelling with themes that matter to today's readers. Without
preaching, it gently explores respect for wildlife, the impact of pollution on our oceans, and the
importance of caring for the places we call home.
